Theme Idea

After doing a group brainstorm we decided to develop the theme idea of the London 2012 olympics as it is relivant to this year and wont happen again anytime soon. It would also mean that we were helping to promote the games.

The first images i thought of when we decided on an olympic theme for our exhibition was the logo used for the London 2012 games shown in the pictures above. The colours from the flag are used on 1 of these logos so we could use this or even the colours in and around the exhibition.

As well as using the specific logo for the London 2012 we could also use the logo for the olympic games in general. The shapes are very simple crings which could easily be used in all parts of the exhibition. This logo also gives us a couple more colours to use if we needed them.

To make sure everyone gets the theme that it the London Olypmpics and not just the olympics images or even models of the iconic buildings could be placed around the room seperating different parts of the exhibition and peoples work.

Another idea with the theme and to help guide people around the exhibition was to use the image and lines of the running track. This would basically involving creating lines in the shape of a running track to guide people round the exhibition.

If at the entrance to the exhibition or at the end we have a board with all of our photos on these stick figures of each game at the olympics could be used to link faces to peoples work. Instead of using numbers the stig figures could link a photo of someone with the work by putting the image in the corner of the photo as well as that persons work. This would work in the exact same way as a number would but just using an image instead.

For our presentation to the rest of the group i was given the task of coming up with a mock example of the layout of the boards for each person. I came up with a basic layout and design shown above using the logos of both the London Olympics and the general Olympics. the pictures of work and the text are then divided up as shown although this can be changed depending on peoples work and how they want it shown. This is just a general idea for how the boards could look and not the final thing.
I then added my work and just added simple text to show how the board would look once its filled in.
